Dr John Best is a Specialist Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician. After graduating from the University of Newcastle in 1984, he was awarded Intern of the Year at St George Hospital, Sydney. He completed
postgraduate studies at London University and in Australia and was subsequently awarded a Fellowship with the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Physicians in 1992.
In 2018 he was awarded the Clinical Supervisor of the Year Award, nominated by the ACSEP registrar body. John enjoys a number of areas in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He has considerable experience working with elite athletes.

This includes almost 15 years involvement with the Australian Rugby Union, incorporating a decade serving as the Australian Team (Wallabies) team physician, which included the victorious 1999 Rugby World Cup. His other roles with Australian Rugby included Medical Director, Sports Science Consultant (High-Performance Unit), Tournament Medical Officer for Rugby World Cup 2003 and Australian representative on International Rugby Board’s Medical Advisory and Anti-doping Committees addressing player safety and well-being.
Since being transformed to follow Christ, John’s heart was always to see men take their rightful position as sons of the Most High, our Father, Yeshua. This year, John will share with the men about the father and son heart in the context of His love.
Friday afternoon – In front of the fire with Pastor Rob Newton cooking up a hearty meal while sharing his testimony.
Saturday morning – Anthony Jones (AJ), a student at Morling, studying to be a minister and has an amazing testimony of how God can set the captives free.
Andrew Parkinson and the worship team will provide the rhythmic food to lead us into worship.
Accommodation @ Cowra baptist:
- Accommodation will be inside the church social area, which is carpeted (own bedding required) .
- Or you can camp outside the church in their spacious back yard.
- Otherwise there are a number of hotel and motel places around Cowra.

Cost: There are 3 payment options:
1. Full weekend – $120 (Fri/Sat)
2. Father and son – $150 ( +$30 for additional child) – Fri/Sat.
4. One night only – $70
Note: Food and drinks will be provided
